THE HOMELESS MC

Saturday, September 25th, 2010

It’s wonderful when an individual gets documented, focused on, valued.
That faceless person who has a story to tell, shared for those that want to listen.
This little documentary filmed by D Nice is a great example of someone who gets over looked all the time having a chance to speak his mind, show us what he has contained within.
Beautiful stuff.

MUSIC LIVES

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Creativity will always exist on the planet earth, we are one and all, a very special creature, so much respect to all that strive to exhibit the beauty within

This special tribute to mister Guru shows us that wonderful music is still out there, and no matter what the corporate demons try to do, they cannot stop real creativity from enriching our souls

CAMDEN GAZZETTE - REPRESENTS

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

I consider myself to be a serious enough artist and all serious artists would like to be considered serious by their peers and those of influence in the art world.
I think though for me now, I couldn’t give a flaming fluck what some fluffy balled git thinks about my work, The fact of the matter though is that the work is not even considered by them poo monsters, which at the end of the day is fair enough.

This countries art fraternity is so elitist that I cant see my work ever getting the attention of any media publications, and so I don’t even see it as an issue any more, I mean, why should I get any attention from critics, from art mags, who the fudge am I?
Do I see it as a slight to my work that the Art review hasn’t done a feature on me yet…..No, because the Art review isn’t about good or bad art, it’s about stuffy non progressive, out of touch bods pushing their opinions and vested interests on to us,
These people try to be the purveyors of taste, the definitive voice of proper culture….but the overall reality is, they havent got a damn clue about anything in the real world.

It’s very hard to make a definitive comment about an artists work if you don’t care to be informed by that particular artist. You have to understand at least a little bit about where the artist is coming from, What the artist has seen, why the artist thinks the way they do…So I don’t expect any critic to get what I do, because there is no desire for them to gain knowledge of my world, or my experience, or the experience of real people with real lives being lived.

It seems so many artists with valid things to say and contribute are ignored because they don’t fit into a intellectual bracket that the art mags and critics seem to stick so tightly too.

This happens because all these so called art bastians have such a limited view of the world, sat in their ivory towers, faffing about, talking rhubarb, thinking they are smart and oh so better than the rest of us.
They don’t get that real art should not just be intellectualized about, explained away, it should be felt, it should be experienced, it should leave you with something, true …art has the ability to inform you about the world and ultimately yourself…….blah blah blah blah, rhubarb, rhubarb……..snap out of it matt, your ranting again…….

anyways, I only wanted to say that theres a little article in my local rag the Camden Gazette, a proper publication with intelligent and informed articles about real people.

And also for the record, if anyone from the Art review, Modern painters or any other art rag want to do a feature on me and my awesome art, all will be forgiven and my hate campaign will cease hence forth

LETS BE FRIENDS

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010

why can’t we be friends and love and hug and kiss and squeeze each other all day long for the rest of eternity.
Maybe we can’t be friends because theres no money to be made from happy happy joy joyness……..

But fudge it, listen to Wars funky words of wisdom and everything gets sunny and groove ridden.

GIVE A LITTLE LOVE

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

“Give a little love and it all comes back to you” What a lovely sentiment.
I often wonder why there are people out there whom seem destined to spend their short time on this planet making everything around them shit.
But as I get more old and fogeyish my focus has become more about those that do good in their lives. They are out there and making a difference and we all need to know that a gesture of lovelyness weather small or grand keeps everything moving and grooving. We just have to realise that we are all one on this mud ball

Bugsy Malone is a bad mofo movie, The two rival gangs sort out there differences at the end and everyone realise that “they can be anything they want to be”.
Life’s a little more complicated than in the movies, I look at all the kids on the street doing what they think they need to do to survive and my heart sinks.
Theres so much that can be achieved by our youth with a little guidance and having been to Zambia and seen the very little opportunities that exist there, I do get frustrated that we cant appreciate what we have here in Blighty.

Whatever happens though the world keeps turning, with or without us loonies.
