The show starts this thursday, 2 July, it’s gonna be a gooden

Tonight at the black rat gallery there is the launch party of Subway art 25th anniversary
Subway art is the book that spawned a million taggers and graff heads.
The night will have the two creators of the book Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfont in attendance along with one of the original artists featured in the book, Blade
There will also be art exhibited by the burning candy crew, a group of graffiti dudes that continue to paint on the streets with similar gusto to the graff heads of old.
the event is from 7- 9 pm

Im looking forward to the up coming show at the Black rat gallery.
Its a three human being show featuring the figurative works of the lovely ms Swoon, mr Brian Adam Douglas aka elbow toe and myself mr tidderly small.
The show is on the 2nd of july which is ages away I know, but is not that long when you still got to get the actual work done for it.
I was going to go on a long rant about the BNP and how they and the people that voted for them are a bunch of feeble minded C-nts and as fascist ideologies tend to go once the enemy is out of the country, ie all the dirty muslims, jews and nig nogs then those same dumbo’s that voted for the nazi crew are up next for the chop.
I was going to go on about that untill I saw this Star wars geek fest on good old you tube and I decided to chill out.
More realness from MC Kombo on the rhyme and my funky fresh chum Edmundo Cavill aka Earlyman producing the beat.
The 80’s in England was an era of mass unemployment and mucho social unrest, joyfully glossed over and ignored by the status quo who all had a great time being greedy money obsessed maggie thatcher lovers.
The specials also known as the specials + two for all you racists out there made the song Ghost Town, which to me is one of the most important tunes and videos ever made, summing up and illustrating beautifully, Great Britain’s inner city experience, which is as prevalent now as it was then.
As I go on with my artistic endevours, i realise that to be a individual in this sea of image based splatter is a tricky one.
For me, i’ve always strived to have a voice that was completely my own, any artist worth their salt will say the same.
When you take the road of individuality though, you run the risk of alienating your self. Being different from the norm means that the mainstream just cant do anything other than play catch up, which means generally an artist will be probably be dead and buried by the time they get any recognition.
So, you know what? fuck the mainstream, fuck those that don’t get what an artist is doing.
If someone doesn’t understand or appreciate what I myself do as an artist, good for them, go and look at Damien. Monet, Nick walker or whatever is floating their boat, we are all entitlied to find a form of expression that enriches our lives, but if you want to be open to what an artist is doing then, open your eyes a bit wider, if you have the chance, speak to the artist, we are there to spread the love, all is groovy
don’t hate on an artist, love, love, love and for gorden bennet’s sake give yourself a chance.
